  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.

Note:

For extra flavor, top the cake with whipped cream or frosting.

The cake rises by 2 inches while baking, so make sure your pan is tall enough.
