Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.
Note:
For extra flavor, top the cake with whipped cream or frosting.
The cake rises by 2 inches while baking, so make sure your pan is tall enough.
